More on what happened today...
I wasn't able to cut and paste from GoogleMap, but if you follow this link, you can see how far away my office is from where the plane crashed into the office building. My office building is on 57th between 5th & 6th (also known as the Avenue of the Americas).
The photo below is taken in Central Park looking south - my office bldg is in left/middle of the shot - the very black building. We are about two blocks from the Park - my office faces south onto 57th street, which is very noise and always very congested. On the corner of my building is Bergdorf Goodman and Trump Towers is half a block away on 5th Ave. Playhouse Enterprises is across the street from us -- over the summer they had rooftop parties (with couches and pooltables outside) that we were able to watch.
