Not Exactly a Model Employee Today...
On a whim this morning I decided I would try and get my haircut. I'm not one of those people that makes an appointment well in advance. On a day like today, when I can't take the length of my hair anymore and I think I have time to sneak off for 45min-1hr I will call and see if my hairdresser, M, is available. I called today shortly after 11am and told them I wanted a cut and was thinking about getting some highlights. They said they would be able to squeeze me in for a cut & highlights if I came at 11:30. I pretty much hopped out of my seat and went to the salon.
My hairdresser was so surprised that I wanted highlights. She's been cutting my hair for 4+ years and we've never done highlights for me, just a single-process (?? - whatever its called when they color your whole head the same color). I had no idea what I was getting myself into - its been at least 6-7 years since I've had highlights, and now that I think about it, I've never had it done to my entire head before, just a couple of strans here and there, which explains a lot.
Turns out, it TAKES FOREVER to get highlights done - I'm apparently the last woman/girl on earth to learn this. Everyone else seems to know how long it takes AND how expensive it is -- $180 for the cut & highlights, and that's before the $35+ tips. Yikes!
So, I didn't get back to the office until after 2pm! And I had left the office around 11:20. OOOPS! At least there was no crisis going on. And besides, my hair looks phenomenal!
