What were the sports or games you played in high school or college?

High School: I played tennis for 3.5 years. I was on JV for the first three years and really enjoyed it. Junior year I was co-captain and playing in the top doubles slot, so that was fun being top-dog. And, I believe that season, or maybe the year before the JV team was undefeated - pretty cool. Although my partner junior year, was this insane uber-Type A girl (who ended up going to Harvard - she was super smart)... we fought like crazy, but were very in-sync and always seemed to win our games, even though we hated playing with one another.... funny how I have blocked that part out of my memory. For part of that year, my partner was Lauren XXX - crap, I'm blanking on her name. She's the redhead from That 70s show. She went to my high school - I thought she was pretty bitchy, but she was a great tennis player....
Anyway: Senior year, you HAD to be on varsity as a senior or you weren't on the team. Three of us were rotating around the last doubles slots. I wasn't having any fun anymore. JV is all doubles and Varsity is 3 singles and 2 doubles teams.... I had only ever played doubles so even though I was a stronger player than some of the other girls, I stunk at singles -- it was a mentaility/strategy thing. I tore my rotator cuff (extremely painful) early in the season, and had the chiroprachter just write me out for the remainder of the season. No regrets there....
I also tried the swim team. I had fun sophmore year doing it. they are very rah-rah with big team dinners ahead of swim meets and lots of cheers and supporting one another.... (very sorority-like) I think it was junior year when I attended try-outs (no one gets cut) and decided I wasn't as in to it as everyone else.... I was big into the Theater Club and didn't have time to fit swimming in.....
College: I was a lazy bum when it came to athletics. I didn't do any intramurals and didn't think I was good enough to be on the tennis team, so I didn't even try out. In retrospect, I was I had.... one of only few college regrets. The Theater Club continued to keep me busy....
I was in the Outing Club, so I did some rock climbing. Senior year I was a rock-wall supervisor - easy job, and fun to be around all of the people that were really into rock climbing..... I still have my harness, shoes, and chalk... I should really get back in to that. Talk about great exercise!
